‘Sarah’ agus an Dà-shealladh (2)
Bha mi ag innse dhuibh mu bhoireannach à taobh Loch Raineach. Bha an dà shealladh aice. Sgrìobh an t-Urramach Iain Mac na Ceàrdaich, ministear ann an Ceann Loch Raineach, dàn mu a deidhinn. Ghabh e ‘Sarah’ oirre mar ainm.
Tha mi airson tuilleadh innse dhuibh mu dheidhinn Sarah. Latha a bha seo, chaidh am muillear à Camas Fheàrnain a dhìth. Chaill e a rathad air a shlighe dhachaigh air oidhche dhorch. Tha Uisge Thatha a’ sruthadh bho Chamas Fheàrnain gu Obar Pheallaidh (agus nas fhaide). Bha dùil gun robh am muillear air tuiteam ann. Rinn sgioba rannsachadh. Fhuair iad a bhonaid ach cha robh sgeul air a chorp.
Chaidh buidheann a Raineach a bhruidhinn ri Sarah. Cha robh ise air a bhith ann an Obar Pheallaidh riamh roimhe. Mar sin, chan fhac’ i riamh an drochaid iongantach a thog an Seanalair Wade.
A dh’aindeoin sin, rinn Sarah sgeidse dhen drochaid. Sheall i far an robh corp a’ mhuilleir. Nuair a chaidh na daoine ann, lorg iad a chorp.
Bha tubaist eile ann an Uisge Thatha. Bha fear à Gar Tulaich a bha, a rèir aithris, na ribear. Thuit e don abhainn air oidhche dhorch. Chaidh a bhàthadh. Chaidh a chorp a sguabadh air falbh leis an t-sruth. Chaidh triùir à Gar Tulaich a bhruidhinn ri Sarah. Thuirt i gum faigheadh iad lorg air corp an duine air beulaibh togalach anns an robh mòran uinneagan.
Thill na fir dhachaigh. ’S e Latha na Sàbaid a bha ann. Ach rinn iad rannsachadh faisg air an eaglais. Dh’iarr iad air a’ mhinistear a choit a chur gu feum. Ach cha tug e cead dhaibh.
Thuirt fear de na daoine ris a’ mhinistear gun robh eisimpleirean dhen dà-shealladh anns a’ Bhìoball. Aig a’ cheann thall, dh’aontaich am ministear a choit a thoirt dhaibh. Ach cha do lorg iad an corp.
An ath latha, chaidh iad a-mach a-rithist. Lorg iad an corp air beulaibh togalach eile anns an robh mòran uinneagan.
Bha Sarah a’ cleachdadh copan nuair a bha i ri fàidheadaireachd. Gu mì-fhortanach, chaidh an copan à fianais an dèidh a bàis.
'Sarah' and the second sight (1)
I was telling you about a woman from Loch Rannoch-side. She had the second sight. The Rev. John Sinclair, minister in Kinloch Rannoch, wrote a poem about her. He called her ‘Sarah’.
I want to tell you more about Sarah. One day, the miller from Camserney went missing. He lost his way on the journey home on a dark night. The River Tay flows from Camserney to Aberfeldy (and beyond). It was thought that the miller had fallen in. A team searched. They found his bonnet but there was no sign of his body.
A group went to Rannoch to speak to Sarah. She had never been in Aberfeldy. Thus, she never saw the amazing bridge that General Wade built.
Despite that, Sarah made a sketch of the bridge. She showed where the miller’s body was. When the people went there, they found his body.
There was another accident in the River Tay. There was a man from Grandtully who was, according to report(s), a trapper. He was drowned. His body was swept away by the current. Three people from Grandtully went to speak to Sarah. She said that they would find the man’s body in front of a building in which there were many windows.
The men returned home. It was the Sabbath Day. But they looked near the church. They asked the minister for the use of his (small) boat. But he didn’t give them permission.
One of the men said to the minister that there were examples of the second sight in the Bible. Finally, the minister agreed to give them his boat. But they didn’t find the body.
Next day, they went out again. They found the body in front of another building in which there were many windows.
Sarah was using a cup when she was prophesying. Unfortunately, the cup disappeared after her death.
