Mar a Fhuair Mac Bhoban Saor a Bhean
Tha stòiridh eile agam dhuibh an t-seachdain seo. A-rithist tha e mu Bhoban Saor. ’S e ainm an stòiridh seo Mar a Fhuair Mac Bhoban Saor a Bhean.
Bha Boban Saor ag iarraidh air a’ ghille aige pòsadh. Chuir e an gille don fhèill chaorach. Bha dà chaora aige. Bha e a’ dol a reic nan caorach. “Can ri daoine,” thuirt athair ris, “gu bheil thu a’ coimhead airson cuideigin a bhios a’ ceannach nan caorach. Bidh e a’ pàigheadh airson pàirt dhiubh. Ach bidh e a’ toirt nan caorach air ais dhut a-màireach.”
Chaidh an gille don fhèill. Dh’fhaighnich daoine, “A bheil thu a’ reic nan caorach?”
“Tha,” ars esan.
“Dè tha thu ag iarraidh orra?”
“Tha a leithid seo de phrìs,” thuirt e. “Feumaidh sibh pàirt de na caoraich a cheannach. Ach feumaidh sibh na caoraich a thoirt air ais dhomh a-màireach.”
Uill, cha do cheannaich duine na caoraich. Dh’fheuch an gille fad an latha. “Dè tha thu ag iarraidh orra?” bha iad a’ faighneachd.
“Tha a leithid seo de phrìs,” thuirt e. “Feumaidh sibh pàirt de na caoraich a cheannach. Ach feumaidh sibh na caoraich a thoirt air ais dhomh a-màireach.”
Thàinig an fhèill gu crìch. Bha na caoraich aig a’ ghille fhathast. Thòisich e air an rathad dhachaigh. Bha e a’ dol seachad air taigh. Thàinig boireannach òg a-mach.
“Cha chreid mi,” ars ise, “gun do reic thu na caoraich agad.”
“Cha do reic,” thuirt an gille. Agus dh’innis e don bhoireannach mar a thachair.
“Ceannaichidh mise pàirt de na caoraich,” ars am boireannach. “Cuir iad don chrò ud. Thig a-steach ’s gum faigh thu do bhiadh.”
“Glè mhath, ma-thà,” fhreagair an gille. Chuir e na caoraich don chrò. Chaidh e a-steach. Ghabh e a bhiadh. Cheannaich am boireannach pàirt de na caoraich. Thug i an t-airgead dha. Dh’iarr i air fuireach airson na h-oidhche. Fhad ’s a bha e na chadal, chaidh i a-mach don chrò. Rùisg i na caoraich. Chùm ise a’ chlòimh – pàirt de na caoraich, ceart gu leòr.
Anns a’ mhadainn chaidh an gille dhachaigh leis na caoraich. Dh’innis e do athair mar a thachair.
Bha am bodach toilichte. “Thalla gu taigh a’ bhoireannaich. Thoir tairgse pòsaidh dhi.”
Chaidh mac Bhoban Saor gu taigh a’ bhoireannaich. Thug e tairgse pòsaidh dhi. Bha i deònach gu leòr a ghabhail. Agus sin mar a fhuair mac Bhoban Saor a bhean.
