A’ siubhal gu Tiriodh
[Ramsay MacMhathain] Madainn Disathairne agus an dèidh dhomh siubhal dhan Òban a-raoir tha mi air bòrd aisig Thiriodh. Bheir i ceithir uairean a thìde a' dol ann, mar sin bha mi gu math tràth air mo chois. Tha i sia uairean sa mhadainn ’s dh’èirich mi mu leth-uair an dèidh còig airson faighinn chun a’ bhàta agus tha mi gu math sgìth. Tha mi a' creidsinn gun aithnich sibh orm gu bheil mi sgìth ach 's fhiach e. Bidh sinn ann an Tiriodh ro dheich uairean sa mhadainn ’s mar sin bidh latha romhainn ’s bidh a h-uile sìon ri dhèanamh. Faodaidh sinn sìon sam bith a dhèanamh a thogras sinn.
[Ramsay MacMhathain] Bha mi a-raoir a’ coimhead air a’ forecast mar a nì a h-uile Albannach air an t-saoghal, dìreach obsessed leis a’ forecast, agus bha i a’ coimhead snog ’s mar sin bha mi dòchasach ’s chuir mi orm briogais ghoirid ach tha mi ga mo ragadh tha mi cho fuar! Ach bidh a’ ghrian a’ deàrrsadh ann an Tiriodh, tha iad ag ràdh gur e microclimate a th’ aca, gu bheil palm trees is tràighean mòra geala aca. Mar sin, bidh e taghta nuair a ruigeas sinn.
[Ramsay MacMhathain] Fuar ’s ged a tha i, tha na seallaidhean dìreach àlainn. Tha mi ann an Tiriodh agus ’s mi a tha toilichte. Feumaidh mi a-nist a' dol a dh’iarraidh a’ bhaidhsagal agus a' faighinn deiseil airson mo chas a chur air tìr.
Travelling to Tiree
[Ramsay MacMahon] Saturday morning and after travelling to Oban last night I’m on board the Tiree ferry. It will take four hours to get there, so I woke up very early. It is six o’ clock in the morning and I woke at about half past five to get to the boat and I am very tired. I believe you’ll recognise that I’m tired, but it’s worth it. We’ll be in Tiree before ten o’ clock in the morning so there will be a day ahead of us and everything to do. We can do anything we want.
[Ramsay MacMahon] I was looking at the forecast last night as every Scottish person in the world does, just obsessed with the forecast, and it was nice and so I was hopeful and I put on shorts but I’m going stiff, I’m so cold! But the sun will be shining in Tiree, they say they have a microclimate, that they have palm trees and big white beaches. So, it will be fine when we arrive.
[Ramsay MacMahon] Although it’s cold, the views are just beautiful. I’m in Tiree and amn’t I happy. I now need to go to ask for a bicycle and get ready to put my foot on land.
